On Mental Health Awareness Day, the volunteers of the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta have organized several activities with the children living in the Missionary Center of Mother Teresa. October has been marked as the international month of awareness for the acceptance and integration in society of all people with different abilities.
The Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta continues to play an important role in supporting the elderly through a program of activities offered at the daily care center. Malteser volunteers organized an unforgettable day for 30 elderly people at the premises of the Museum of Communism "Site of Witness and Memory".
The fifth meeting of partner organizations on the ERASMUS+ project “Spreading community life model" was held in Pravetz, Bulgaria, from 12 to 16 September 2017.
Malteser Albania as a project member was present with four members. During this study visit in Pravetz, we and our colleagues had the opportunity to get to know more about the local context in Bulgaria and good practice examples in community life.
The Malteser Multidisciplinary Center in Lezhë has opened the doors to the Lezha community in general and that of the Roma and Egyptians in particular. First activity was organized in August. With financial support of Malteser Albania in collaboration with a Roma NGO “Integration of Northern Roma” during first week of August was held a summer camp for children in Shengjin, Lezhe. Participants were 30 Roma children.
