Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival. It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death, after dying on the cross.
Except Liturgical celebrations which are very special during this time, for Christians there is a custom sharing eggs with others. Eggs are a traditional symbol of fertility and rebirth. For the Christians it is a reminder that Jesus rose from the grave. The Easter eggs are dyed usually in red symbolizing the blood of Jesus.In the frame of Easter celebrations, this year Malteser Albania thought to organize something different from the other years.
The Malteser volunteers have dyed the Easter eggs and have
put them in baskets accompanied by an Easter card. They have offered them to people who live at the Regional Development Center, at the House “Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa”, at the Residential Center for disabled people in Shkodra and at the Charity House in Laç Vau Dejës.

The Malteser volunteers have also offered eggs to people in the main streets of Shkodra, especially to those participating in an art and craft fair held during Easter celebrations.
