Every feast has its own beauty. Every feast brings a special joy into the life of every person. But Christmas and New Year feasts, have a special splendor; it might be because their atmosphere starts weeks before and the preparations are more emotional and meaningful.
Or because these feasts include people of all ages, because everybody offers his contribution to make it more vivid, or because this feasts have the magic to bring families and the loved ones together, to give and to receive, not only gifts, but love above all, because, truly, love gives life to mankind.
Through its work and activities, Malteser Albania tries to offer much love, especially for the most unwanted and distressed people, but at the same time for the ones who contribute all the time to transmit this love to the others. These are Malteser volunteers, those who are in the front line of the activities, who, inspired by the Malteser mission, dedicate their time to the people in need, to the disabled people, to the children and old.
The end year feasts of Christmas and New Year are the right time for Malteser to embrace gratefully each one of the volunteers, for this precious contribute they give in every activity. For Christmas and New Year celebrations, Malteser has organized a festive dinner for all the volunteers in the settings of Kolping Center. Malteser staff was present in this celebration together with H.E. Lucian Avgustini, Bishop of Diocese of Sapa and President of Malteser Albania, and Fr. Gazmend Tinaj, Provincial of Minor Franciscan Order in Albania and Spiritual Leader of Malteser Albania. The dinner was opened with the blessing and the thanks of Bishop Avgustini for all the volunteers and everything they do to fulfill the motto: “Defense of the Faith and assistance to the poor and the suffering”
The festive dinner was fully colored by the presence of 23 disabled girls who live at the house Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa. They created a special and a lovely atmosphere. What counts most, is that they felt good, sharing their happiness with everybody else.
