On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Independence, in the frame of the activities which are being organized in different cities of Albania, the Regional Health Directorate of Shkodra has organized the Health Fair entitled “Beside the citizen 100 years of independence and 100 years of health”.
This activity, which went through 19-24 November 2012, took place in the main pedestrian of Shkodra, with the participation of the Regional Directorate of Health, Department of Infirmary, Caritas Shkodër, the Red Cross, Malteser, World Vision, etc. The purpose of this fair was to raise awareness to people about chronic diseases, prevention of CA (breast, prostate, lungs, cervical uterus), family planning, children health, oral health, blood donation, providing first aid and road safety.
During these days, citizens of different ages have been able to have some examinations, as, glycemy level, blood pressure, etc. On Saturday, a significant number of people came even to donate blood.
Malteser Albania was present at the fair with its volunteers and staff, providing different information according to the topics of every day. On Saturday, volunteers were able to show people how to offer the first aid when it is needed.
