On February 11, there was a special celebration for the sick people of the Diocese of Shkodër-Pult (north of Albania). All the sick faithful were invited to participate at a feast organized at the “Missionaries of Charity” of Mother Teresa. They were accompanied by their families, sisters of different congregations and by people who work in organizations engaged with sick people, such as “home families”, etc. Two actors and some children who live at the Missionaries House sang and acted for more than one hour in a simple show, and food and drinks were offered to all who were present.

The Mass was celebrated by the Bishop H.E. Angelo Massafra with some other priests. At the end of the Mass, the faithful were blessed with the Holy Sacrament.
This Mass was celebrated at a time when the Cathedral of Shkodra is celebrating its 150 anniversary and Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed this time as the Year of the Jubilee for this Diocese, thus at the end some prayers were prayed for the people present to receive the Plenary Indulgence.
“Malteser Albania” was present with its volunteers to collaborate with the Sisters of Mother Teresa in transporting the sick children and old and sick people from their houses to the Church and vice-versa.
There were nine Malteser volunteers and staff taking part during the activity and the Mass and two cars were in service.
