On December 15, 2010, at 7.00 p.m, a farewell reception was organized at the hotel “Rogner” Tirana, on the occasion of the departure of the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Albania, Prof. Dr. Gunther A.Granser.
In this solemnity there were present H.E Rrok Mirdita, President of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, H. E Lucian Avgustini, Bishop of Sapa, and President of Maltesr ALbania, Father Gazmend Tinaj, Provincial of the Franciscans in Albania and the Spiritual Leader of Malteser Albania.
Honored with their presence ministers, parliamentarians, diplomatic corps accredited in Albania, and representatives of local government.
In his farewell speech Prof. Dr. Gunther A. Granser emphasized that 16 years of work have been fruitful years of cooperation, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994. During his speech, he expressed his thanks to the President of Malteser Albania, H. E Lucian Avgustini, the Executive Director Mr. Maranaj Marku, the staff and volunteers and to all his cooperators during these 16 years.
Malteser Albania participated in this very important event with 14 volunteers and its staff.
