Our city, Shkodra, is not known only for its bicycle use, but also for the colorful flowers in the yards and gardens, which are an identifying symbol for it. Therefore, since 2006, every May 6th, Shkodra has transformed the feast of flowers into a tradition, or otherwise known as the day of renewal.
The folk authors of Shkodra have dedicated 150 song texts to the flowers, which you will find almost at every house in Shkodra.
Although it is not an official holiday, for most schools, this day is accompanied with excursions and other entertaining activities. The greatest celebration is held in the city center, where a great and entertaining artistic show is organized with the participation of kindergarten and school children.
This year, participants of the festive concert organized by the Regional Educational Directorate, were even the children of the Malteser kindergarten. Dressed in spring colors and decorated with flowers on their head, they performed in the spring scene with two poems and presented their works (various colorful flowers, created by their hands, with the help of their teachers).
