International Conference on Voluntarily home care for elderly people

Malteser in Lithuania, with the help of German Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”, organized in Vilnius, on October 3, 2009, the international conference on: “Voluntary Home Care for elderly people”, with the participation of Malteser Organizations of Central and Eastern Europe, of Health Ministry and Ministry of Work and Social Affairs in Lithuania. Malteser Albania was present with its three representatives.
Among many themes, in this conference it was introduced the proceeding of the project “Voluntary Home Care for elderly people” in Lithuania and it was discussed about the problems on licensing of voluntaries’ training, since their certificates are not known by the State.
The representative of the Ministry of Health in Lithuania greeted the initiative and offered the possibility to collaborate and to license the trainings for the project in question.
The discussions ended with the presentation of the same project in Rumania, supported by the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs.

For Malteser Albania this conference was very helpful, because it gave it a push to analyze and to put into practice a similar project even in our country.
