The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992. It aims to promote and lobby for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness on the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Since many years Malteser Albania has promote and lobby with various projects and programs for these target groups.
On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with disabilities, the volunteers and the staff of the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta has been part of the inauguration of a Cultural Center for people with disabilities.
Our volunteers have delivered PC for their new Cultural Center for paraplegic and tetraplegic persons in Shkodra.
Through a video message the Head of paraplegic and tetraplegic association expressed their gratitude to the Malteser Albania organization, who is the main sponsor for the computers trainings.
