In order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, April been celebrated since the 1970s as the National Autism Awareness Month.
Autism is a developmental disability that is often seen within the first three years of life. The prevalence of autism continues to rise, and it is important to spread the truth about autism and create a better environment for those with autism by establishing events and activities that are both informative and fun. The puzzle awareness ribbon is widely recognized as the symbol for autism awareness.
The National Autism Awareness Month is celebrated by Presidential/Congressional declarations, online events and activities, Local events and activities through affiliates, Partner opportunities, creating our own National Autism Awareness Month event, etc.Malteser Albania, in collaboration with the Municipality of Shkodra, is holding a variety of activities on Autism Awareness. The Municipality has been lighted up in blue; a banner “has been placed in front of the Municipality, posters and leaflets have been spread to people in Shkodra.
The Malteser Albania volunteers will hold other activities during April on Autism Awareness to help people understand and accept and show their support for anyone on the autistic spectrum.
