The International Volunteer Day, December 5, was designated by the United Nations in 1985 as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism.
It is an opportunity for volunteers, and volunteer organizations, to raise awareness of, and gain understanding for, the contribution they make to their communities.

Since that is one of the most active voluntary based organizations in the northern region of Albania, on the International Volunteer Day, Malteser Albania, was chosen by the TV of this region, together with the “Albanian Red Cross” and “Children Today” to introduce its voluntary activity and tell about its successful work in one of its programs. The two guests, one of the most active volunteers Dorontina Tomaj and the volunteer coordinator Orjeta Cungu, within one hour and a half of the program, followed by a large audience, have told about the successes of Malteser activities, the successes of voluntarism and have commented the volunteering challenges in Albania.
