On February 11th, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Except uncountable faithful who take part in the Holy Mass, the sick are those who are the most privileged of this day, as the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is dedicated specially to the sick.
This year, in Shkodra, the Mass of the day of the sick was celebrated on February 6th, while the statue of Our Lady of Fatima is present in the Cathedral of Shkodra since January 16th, and will remain there until February 7th, when it will peregrinate to another diocese. The Holy Mass was celebrated by H.E. Mgrs. Angelo Massafra in co-celebration with other priests.
Malteser Albania, as every year was in activity during the day. The Malteser volunteers collaborated with the Franciscan Sisters Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, to transport people with disabilities and elderly from their houses to the Church and vice-versa. During the Mass and the service they accompanied them and took care of them.
