In the frame of the First Aid World Day, the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Public Health, the Health Center of Guri i Zi, the Health Centre of Bardhaj, the 9-year school in Bardhaj, and the Department of Nursing University “Luigi Gurakuqi”, held an awareness event on the First Aid.
The stimulated situations, which seemed as real, attracted the attention of citizens, thus proving their awareness about accidents or to situations when a person may need first aid. The purpose of establishing this day is to sensitize the community on the importance of providing first aid in every circumstance and situation when it is required. In many cases many people are not able to provide an emergency service, to operate correctly and consequently there is life loss, or exacerbation of health of sick or injured people.
Participants in this event were residents of the village of Guri i Zi, mostly young people from this village, as well as students of 9-year school in Bardhaj. The volunteers of the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta informed the participants about the importance of offering first aid to each person as well as theoretical and practical side of its offering.
