For the second year, Shkodra welcomes the sporting activity “Triathlon Labeat 2015”, a competition in three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running, organized by the Association of Lake Water Sports, the University “Luigi Gurakuqi” in cooperation with the Municipality of Shkodra.

The first Triathlon was held on September 25, 1974 in San Diego, California, with about 46 participants, although its origin is in 1920 in France, called “Three Sports”.
The Triathlon “The Iron Man” is the longest and the hardest race which includes 3.9 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.95 km running (marathon).
Another race, which started in 1902, is cycling and canoe sprint.

The participants were of two age groups:
Children of 10-15 years, youth over 16, and adults.
According to the International Union of Triathlon, these are two of the most important races.
Children (Iron Kids): swimming 150 m; cycling 5 km; running 1 km.
Sprint Distance: swimming 750 m; cycling 10 km, running 5 km.

“The Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta” assisted in this activity with its First Aid Team and ambulance, as well as with its volunteers placed at various points to monitor the situation in each held activity.
