The fifth meeting of partner organizations on the ERASMUS+ project “Spreading community life model” was held in Pravetz, Bulgaria, from 12 to 16 September 2017.
Malteser Albania as a project member was present with four members. During this study visit in Pravetz, we and our colleagues had the opportunity to get to know more about the local context in Bulgaria and good practice examples in community life.
Besides other institutions and good practice examples, we also visited the Center for Social Integration and Rehabilitation-Family Accommodation for Disabled Children built within the EU program intended for deinstitutionalization of social care services. This Center, in which 15 disabled people are living and 20 staff is employed, is designed by the model of similar centers built in the Netherlands. Besides the accommodation, beneficiaries have the opportunity to get in touch with the community, daily activities, learning and working.
The study visit was attended by representatives of partner organizations: Fundacion Escuela de Solidaridad Granada, Spain; Ekologichno Sdruzhnie Prebalkan, Sofia, Bulgaria; Housing Development Center for Socially Vulnerable Groups, Belgrade Serbia; Cooperative Sociale Artemide, Latiano, Italy; Mary Seacole Housing Association, Luton, United Kingdom and Malteser Albania. The project “Spreading community life model” is funded by the EU under the ERASMUS + program.
