

It has ended successfully even this year the Summer school-camp “Velipoja 2009”, organized by Malteser Albania for Roma children of our city and children from remote areas, such as Bogë, Bratosh, Shkrel, Reç, Sheldi, Dedaj, where Malteser operates and from suburbs of Shkodra, whose families have economic difficulties.
The camp took place in Velipoja beach from 23 June – 26 July.
Even this year the project Summer school-camp “Velipoja 2009” aimed to integrate Roma children and those coming from remote areas to a social life, and to give them the possibility of an entertainment and new friendships.

The Camp was organized in two shifts, 15 days each, with 50 children and 15 volunteers for each shift. The volunteers have sat up the Camp, organized and conducted all the activities. The children have followed an educational and entertaining program.
In every shift a school program was followed by the Malteser staff and volunteers and many entertaining and sportive activities were organized. The school program included: information on children rights, information on
formative society, Geography lessons, reading and writing, painting, education on personal hygiene etc. Beside this there was even the entertaining program with activities and sport competitions.
Both programs focused on new ways of communicating among children and on establishing tolerance and acceptance.
