With the coming of the end of June, after the usual preparations for setting up the summer school-camp by its volunteers within the period of 25 to 27 June 2015, the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta started the 15th summer camp for discriminated children who are in a difficult economic situation.
This summer school-camp is organized at the Velipoja beach and lasts for a month, with the participation of Roma and Egyptian children, children from remote areas, who are given the opportunity to enjoy the summer holidays, unaffordable by their families, with a poor background and isolated. Besides the possibility of entertainment with various games and activities, the camp is also a school to them.
The first shift, held during 27 June 2015 to 5 July 2015, welcomed 70 children: 40 Roma and Egyptian children, and 35 children from Tropoja and Shkodra.
This camp goes on by the hard work of Malteser Albania volunteers, who offer their voluntary and humanitarian contribute inspired by the Christian principles, basic for the Order of Malta in the world.
This camp is made possible by the Ambassador Franz Salm-Reifferscheidt, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta for Roma Issues, who is the main sponsor for this activity, held by the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta.
