The “Independence Marathon”, is an activity which started in 2012 by passionate people of sport from Ulcinj and Shkodra and it is already part of the program about the celebrations of the Independence of Albania.
On November 28, the second edition of this marathon, with participants from Ulcinj, Shkodra, Tirana and other cities of Albania, started from Shkodra toward Ulcinj. The starting ceremony of the event took place in the square close to the Municipality of Shkodra. Before the race start, the Mayor of Shkodra, Mr. Lorenc Luka and the Albanian Deputy of Ulcinj, Gëzim Nimanbegu, offered the event greetings.
At the request of the Municipality of Shkodra, the Malteser Albania First Aid Team with its ambulance was present during the whole marathon race, assisting in necessary moments.
