The children of the “Malteser” Kindergarten have been part of the Carnival celebrations. Most of them, were dressed in costumes or wore masks, others had faces painted by their teachers.
They celebrated carnival together with their teachers, dancing, playing and singing. The most joyful part of the day was when altogether, they went outside the yard and burned the scarecrow, which they had built with their teachers.
Carnival is a festive season which takes place in cities and towns in many countries around the world and occurs immediately before the Christian liturgical season of Lent, usually during February. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up in masks during the celebrations, which is an overturning of the normal things of everyday life. This season can sometimes last for several days or weeks.
