The Station of the Cross

February 23, 2013 marks the 15th anniversary of the Station of Cross which is prayed every year during the Lent season on the Mountain of Tarabosh.

This prayer, which reminds the faithful about the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ in Calvary, is part of the celebrations which the Diocese of Shkodra has prepared during the Lent Season.
As every year, this activity is organized by the youth group of the Cathedral of Shkodra “Teacher where do you live”, in collaboration with all the catholic youth groups of the Diocese.
Faithful of all ages from Shkodra and villages surrounding it, youth groups and children who are getting prepared to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, accompanied by priests and nuns, climbed the mountain of Tarabosh to recall the Suffering of Jesus and pray the 14 stops of the Station of the Cross.
The weather was cloudy, rainy and cold, but it didn’t keep the faithful away from this activity. The prayer of the Station of the Cross began at 9.00 am with the greeting of the parish priest Dom Gjovalin Sukaj and it lasted for about three hours. It was concluded with the final prayer by H.E. Angelo Massaffra, Archbishop of Shkodra.
The Malteser staff and many volunteers participated in the prayer and three Malteser volunteers prayed the 2nd station “Jesus carries the cross”.
