The participants were divided into three shifts, with 75 children per shift, mainly Roma, Egyptian and other children, as well as 15 volunteers per shift.
There were three Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Tropoja and representatives and parents of Roma and Egyptian communities helping in the camp together with the volunteers.
Except preparing the territory and setting up the tents during 24-27 of June, the Malteser volunteers helped in the implementation of the educational and entertaining program.
In one of the days of the camp, the children were surprised by the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta with riding lessons. Under the leadership of an instructor, the children had the chance to be trained in riding horses and got different information about horses. This was made possible at the Velipoja reservation, which is found near the Malteser camp.
During their activities, as well as during the creativity hours, the participating children in the camp, through their different works, expressed their gratitude to the Ambassador Franz Salm-Reifferscheidt, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta for Roma Issues, who is the main sponsor for this activity, held by the Albanian Organization of the Order of Malta.
