The last training of the training cycle on “Clinical examination of breast”, held in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health in the frame of the IAEA’s Program of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT) and the Order of Malta on the cancer control, came to its end.
This training cycle ended with the training held in Puka, on November 14-15, 2014 with doctors and nurses from Puka taking part. This training was held in the frame of October, the month of awareness about breast cancer.There were 8 trainings held: respectively in Puka, Malësi e Madhe and Shkodra, where about 170 doctors and nurses of the primary health care were trained. This training is accredited by the National Center of Continuing Education and is evaluated with 13 credits.
This training cycle was the second phase of the project “Fight against cancer”, supported by the former Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Albania, Prof. Dr. Gunther Granser.
The first phase of the project has been focused on promotional campaigns and community-wide awareness on breast cancer. During these campaigns, brochures and leaflets on breast cancer were distributed. The health personnel in remote areas are still being trained on this issue.
