The Sanctuary of St. Anthony, in Laç, Kurbin, is the most visited sanctuary in Albania from thousands of people of different religions, who go toward this place to pray to St. Anthony for a miracle of physical and spiritual cure, especially during the 13 Tuesdays before his feast on June 13th. The pilgrims come from all corners of Albania and other countries, children and grown up people, healthy and sick ones.

On May 16 the Sanctuary welcomed the group of the disabled and elderly people, leaded by 5 Malteser volunteers and Sr. Cristiana, Franciscan Missionary of the Heart of Jesus.
The volunteers helped the disabled and the elderly people go to the Sanctuary of St. Anthony, pray and take part in the Holy Mass.
This pilgrimage, now a yearly tradition of Malteser activities, not only offers to the disabled and elderly people the possibility to touch the holy place, but also helps the Malteser volunteers grow up and get spiritually inspired as believers, and act according to the motto: “Defense of the Faith and assistance to the poor and the suffering”.
